Anushka Shah first introduced herself to the world of Shackleton Theatrics through her unforgettable portrayal of Billy in Jimmy Jenkenheimer: Adventure Super Master. Through her commitment and passion for Shackleton's culture and structure, Anushka and Park Lytle reunited to produce her first original work, Nomad Cookbook.

Nomad Cookbook serves as the first one-person show produced by Shackleton Theatrics, and we couldn't be happier to have the highly professional and endlessly Anushka leading the charge for us. Nomad Cookbook opened in March of 2025 through the CalArts Coffeehouse Theater. It was as a testament not only to Anushka's own craft, but for the versatility and adaptability of Shackleton to continue producing projects of all scales.

Nomad Cookbook is a show chronicling the life and family history of a first-generation South Asian child of immigrants. Performed from start to finish by one actor and loosely based around the structure of a recipe book, this play serves as an archive for family recipes, and a reflection on immigration and assimilation, asking why people leave their homes, what we gain in the process and what we inevitably lose. This play at its heart is a story of movement; immigration and the diaspora, reflecting the long and arduous process of finding a home for oneself and the universality of friendship, family and most importantly food.
